Phoebe “Kit” L. Taylor

Phoebe L. Taylor passed away peacefully at age 100 on Monday, October 3, 2022 in her Glen Mills, PA residence.

Born in Ireland to Nixon and Mary Carson, she grew up in Queens, New York, and retained her self-styled moniker “Kit” throughout her long life. She lived in suburban Wilmington for more than 50 years, where she was active in the DuPont Country Club, Calvary Church, and Christ Church. She took pleasure in gardening, cooking, painting, and talking politics, and she was an avid bridge player well into her 90s.

Nothing was more important to her than the love for her husband Bob and her devotion to her children. Her beauty and warmth, unending loyalty and support, and kind patience will be cherished forever by her survivors: sons (and wives) Kevin (Marina), Robert (Gail), and Lawrence (Susan) Meehan; step-daughter and son-in-law, Kathryn and Brian Walters; grandchildren Michael and Kathryn Meehan, and Patrick and Elliot Walters; and three great grandchildren. Her two older brothers predeceased her.

The graveside funeral service and interment will be private.
