Paul A. Larson

Paul Alfred Larson, known to his family as PAL, passed away at the age of 90 on November 20, 2025.  Born in Johnstown, PA, he was the fourth child of Hugo Christian Larson and Esthena  Randolph Larson.  He attended Liberty HS in Bethlehem, PA and graduated from Gettysburg College with a BA degree in chemistry in 1956.  After graduation, Paul accepted a job with the DuPont Company where he worked for 37 years.  During his first year in the chemistry lab, he met his future wife,  Betty Amici.  They married in 1958 and celebrated 67 years of marriage this year.

Paul was a devoted family man and encouraged his daughters (Karen Larson, Linda Evans, and Amy Murray) to pursue their life dreams.  After retiring from DuPont, he enjoyed playing golf, traveling with Betty, cheering on Duke basketball and, most importantly, spending time with and being a PAL to his grandchildren (Kaitlyn Jue, Thomas Evans III, Elena Murray, and Andrew Murray).  His great grandchildren, Oliver and Milo Jue, will also remember him as their PAL.  Paul was a generous and thoughtful man with an infectious smile and thrived in opportunities to say a kind word, engage in friendly conversation and lend a hand.  He had an irrepressible twinkle in his deep blue eyes which will be a treasured memory for all who knew him.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Gilpin Hall, Wilmington DE, for their compassionate care of Paul over the past four years.   Donations in Paul’s memory can be made to Gilpin Hall via their website:  https://www.gilpinhall.org/    Services will be private.
