Nancy Daddow Gemmell

Nancy Daddow Gemmell, age 92, of Wilmington, DE passed away on Wednesday, September 10, 2025.

A lifelong resident of Wilmington, DE., Nancy was born in 1933 to the late Dr. Wilbur and Grace Daddow. Her husband of 44 years, Dr. Gordon D. Gemmell died in 2002. She is survived by her daughter Kathryn Preston (Brian), her son Bruce Gemmell (Barb), grandson Andrew Gemmell (Jordan), granddaughter Erin Gemmell, special friend Ted Jerman, and her sister Jean Paulsen.

Nancy earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in mathematics from Bucknell University. She taught mathematics for 18 years in New Castle County public schools and was an adjunct instructor at Delaware Technical and Community College for 20 years. She was a loyal member of Westminster Presbyterian Church for over 75 years.

Services will be private.

Memorial contributions may be made in Nancy’s memory to the Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1502 W. 13th St., Wilmington, DE 19806.

    Wilbur worked with us at church with the scout troop several years ago. So sorry for your loss. Had many nice visits with Nancy at Country House we were neighbor in Brandywine Woods for many years.

    Nancy was a dear friend of my mother LaVerne Weaver who died at the beginning of 2025. They were Country House neighbors and fellow Westminster members for years. I enjoyed many visits to Country House and many times we had dinner with her and Ted. Special people! May you have peace.
