I remember Kay's voice, her precise and warm humor, the many years she spent dedicated to her pediatric patients, many nights on call, the photos of her smile on adventurous family vacations. Her legacy is all the people whose lives she brightened, made safer, cared for, shared joy with. Those gifts will not fade, trust that the grief can, without losing the love.

Dr Lynam was the Dr for my 3 sons. I'll never forget with my first son in 1979 she was waiting for us in recovery and the first person i saw. She was very good to them and would see us right away if any of them were sick. She had to make a quick visit into our exam room once to have my 2 younger sons calm down because the were acting up in the room. She was a wonder caring Doctor and i will forever be grateful for her through the years.

What a gift Dr. Lynam was to so many!! I am honored to say that I am one of them. My children were blessed to call her their pediatrician from birth to aging out. (They are now 40,42 and 44!! ) My pediatrician , Dr. Maroney , recommended her highly as she had interned with him and he was very impressed with her talent and compassion. Job well done my friend, a life well lived by giving and caring for others. Lifting all of Dr. Lynam's family and friends up in prayer.

    Rebecca Silva writes,
A few months before the birth of my first child, I registered my baby to be a new patient at a pediatric practice. For more than two decades, Dr. Lynam and the physicians who joined her practice not only cared for my sons but also instilled confidence in me as a mother. I remember feeling bereft when my oldest aged out of their care because I was certain that no one else would ever take better medical care of him than these women had. I was fortunate for my youngest to have an appointment shortly before Dr. Lynam retired. She told me about her impending retirement at the end of our visit. Even though my youngest was a teenager by then and would shortly age our family out of the practice entirely, I cried as I expressed my gratitude to her. She hugged and comforted me as if I were one of her patients. Quietly, calmly, gently. My sons have been out of pediatric care for quite some time. I haven’t seen Dr. Lynam in close to a decade. Still, I cried when I heard of her death, and I find myself grieving. The people who aren’t family or friends but who celebrate our children’s milestones with us… the people who are the calm professionals during our most frazzled, exhausted, and even desperate parenting moments… The women who say things like, “You’ll know what to do if this happens again,” in a way that both validates your Dr. Mom degree and suddenly convinces you that yes, you WILL know what to do… These people are priceless, precious gifts. Dr. Lynam (and the doctors, nurses, and staff with whom you created a practice), you were worth sitting in the hallway with three sick kids because the sick-patient waiting room was just too small during the winter months. I would do it again in a heartbeat. Thank you.

I first met Dr. Lyman when she was a pediatric resident and I was a pediatric nurse. I witnessed the care and love she showed towards all of the patients. In addition to that, she saved my daughter’s life when she was not breathing at the time of her birth. There are no words to fully explain how much good she did during her life and I will always be grateful to her
