Lois W. Rogers

Lois W. Rogers of West Grove, died January 2, 2018. Born in 1931 in Wellesley, Mass., she was the daughter of the late Leslie H. and Eugenie M. Wicken. She graduated from Wellesley High School in 1948 Mount Ida College in 1950. She married her High School sweetheart the late Frederick M. Rogers in 1952 and they enjoyed 58 years of marriage together. They moved across the county to 10 different cities and each move seemed like a breeze because of her wonderful smile and kind touch with all of those that she met. She enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid golfer, bowler, den mother, and volunteer. Whether in Portland Oregon, Plymouth Michigan, Dallas Texas, Toronto Canada, or one of many other cities she lived in she would find some time to volunteer in the community. Lois was a member of the Greenwood bowling league, the Kennett Square Golf and Country Club where she was a long time member of the women’s 18 hole golf league. She was a volunteer at the Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children, and was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church Choir for over 25 years. Lois also was also a frequent volunteer at The Encore, in support of the Southern Chester County Hospital. Her greatest joy were her children, her daughters-in-law, as well as grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her family time was important to her and keeping up with the grandchildren and great grandchildren was her most recent activity. They will all miss her wonderful personality.

She is survived by her son Frederick M. Rogers, Jr. (Patty); grandson Christopher, son Geoffrey M. Rogers (Sheryl); grandson Geoffrey M. Rogers, Jr. (Janae) great granddaughter, Eva; Grandson Devin (Tara); and granddaughter Kymberli Fant (Glenn) great grandson Axl, and great granddaughter Ivy.
