Lois C. Valentine

Lois C. Valentine, age 89, more commonly known as Mom, Mom-Mom, Lo and Mee-Mom, of Hockessin and formally of Newark, passed away on April 3, 2018.

Lois was born in 1928 in Philadelphia but spent most of her life in Hockessin. She was an amazing mother and homemaker. Lois thrived when she was sitting on the beach and watching her ocean. She also loved playing golf, going to the casino and spending time with her family. During the summer she loved to plant a vegetable garden and feed her birds. Lois and her late husband Walter belonged to Newark Country Club for 30 years.

Lois is survived by her loving daughter Debbie Hoffmann (John), three sons Jeff, Jack (Mark) and Jimmy (Gina), grandchildren Kathleen Schmidt (James), Krista Bethell (Gavin), Mason Aronauer, Crystal McAllister, Michael Valentine, Chris Valentine (Shelby), Mike Valentine, great-grandchildren Nic, Justin, Madeline, Teagan, Aydan and Colin. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years Walter, parents Estelle and Edward Kneiile, sister Elizabeth Dolphin, brother Robert Kneiile, daughter-in-law Debra McAllister and grandson Jeffrey McAllister.

Please join us on Friday April 6, 2018 at Chandler Funeral Home, 7230 Lancaster Pike in Hockessin, Delaware. Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 6:00PM with the Memorial Service commencing at 6:00PM.

    Lois was a very special friend and liked to sign all her correspondence "Your Partner., which referred to our many rounds of golf together. I am living in Florida now, so will be unable to attend the service, but my thoughts will be with the family.
