Leroy Vernon Peiffer

On June 4th, 2018, Leroy Vernon Peiffer, passed away at the age of 83. Leroy was husband to Latitia Jane Peiffer, who predeceased him. He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Kay, son James Peiffer and his wife Judith, daughter Carla Mathews and her husband Charles, and grandchildren Jordin and Madison Peiffer and Bailee Mathews.

Leroy was raised in Denver, Colorado and graduated from University Colorado with a Chemistry degree. His first and only employer was Hercules, Inc. He started in the lab, moved to sales and then management where he achieved great success. His dedication to hard work and perfection in everything carried through in his commitment to the company, his coworkers, and his family. His insight and opinion on “all things” will be missed by his family and those who had the good fortune to know him.

Funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Habitat for Humanity, 1920 Hutton St., Wilmington, DE 19802.

I worked with Lee for many years at Hercules and always appreciated his astute advice and guidance. We kept touch following his retirement and then my retirement. Besides a great boss, he was a very good friend and he will be missed.

I have known Lee since I replaced him in the New York Sales Office in the early 1960's. He was smart, witty, and always great company. A real asset to Hercules, but more importantly a dedicated husband and father (always so proud of his and Jane's children) and a good friend.
