Leon D. Smith, Jr.

Leon D. Smith, Jr., age 83, of Farmington, Delaware, passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at Milford Hospice Center.

Leon was born in Greenwood, Delaware in 1943, son of the late Leon D. Smith, Sr. and Margaret Louise Donze Smith. He proudly served in the United States Army Reserves and worked as a truck driver and insurance agent until becoming disabled. Leon enjoyed attending services at Bethany Church of the Brethren in Farmington.  He had an infectious laugh and a deep love of life.

He was predeceased by his wife, June Smith; his stepsons, Robert Hassett and George Hassett; and his stepdaughter, Annamaria Jester. Leon is survived by his son, David Smith (Barmeta); daughter, Crystal Van Vorst; sister, Carolyn Overstreet; stepdaughter, June Bramble and several grandchildren.

In accordance with his wishes, there will be no funeral service.
