Kenneth Leroy Milstead

Kenneth Leroy Milstead of Wilmington, DE, born in South Bend, IN in 1949, went to heaven on May 3, 2017 at the age of 68. He was loved by his wife, Kim, and his children Jacob, Jerry (Lisa) of Northfield, NJ, Katie (Doug) Stanley of Bear, April (Tom) Adado of Holt, MI and Denelle Milstead, as well as his brothers Gerald (Sheryl) and Charles, his sister Sue (Terry) Eberhart and sister-in-law Kerri (Tim) DiRocco. He was also cherished by his grandchildren: Andy, Josh, Heather and Jared—and his furry grandkids Teddie, Levi, Sparty and Bam Bam. Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Edna Mae Milstead and Glenn Milstead, and sister-in-law Kathy Milstead.

Ken, named “2nd Athlete of the Decade” at Trenton High School in Trenton, MI, went on to play football at Michigan State University, and has been a lifelong Spartan fan. He earned a degree in respiratory therapy at Delaware Tech and has worked as a respiratory therapist with many great friends at Christiana Medical Center for the last 22 years. Ken enjoyed golfing, caring for patients, time with family and pets, and all sports, especially MSU, as well as Newark High School, serving as a booster for football and baseball teams.

The family wishes to thank all of the nursing staff, doctors, respiratory therapists and especially Dr. Ben Jackson from University of Pennsylvania Medical Center who dedicated themselves to his care for the last month.
