Voula, Charley and Kathy, So sorry to hear about Johnny’s passing so young…..Your family was the best neighbors to have back in the W 22nd St. Days…..Voula’s cooking, Charley’s philosophies, Kathy’s smile and Johnny’s deals….I will always remember Johnny washing his XKE while I washed my Austin Hedley and on Sunday afternoons then him laughing at me as I laboriously dried it and he took his up on I-95 and ran it 90 mph to air dry it. He’d come back and feel sorry for me and helped me finish. Loved that guy and your whole family! Thoughts and prayers are with you and great memories of Johnny. WvS

    Terence Buckley writes,
Johnny Manis was amazing! I loved that guy and "whew" he was a lot! My dad, John Buckley (who passed away in February 2022) and Johnny hung out all the time. I would join them once in a while and hang out, eat breakfast, talk a little trash...lots of energy and always fun, Johnny has a kind soul and a deep love for life and the people in his life, and my dad always recognized that about Johnny. And Johnny loved my dad too. When he came through the receiving line at my dad's funeral I could see the loss on his face, and I gave him a big hug as I was thankful for the long and enduring friendship he shared with my dad. I would imagine that when Johnny crossed over to the other side my dad and Al and Bob were there to greet hm, eventually making their way to breakfast and listen to Johnny talk about commercial real estate and solve all the world's problems. Right or wrong, Johnny was a character, and he will be missed. You have my condolences, Terence

To Voula, Kathy and Charlie and the rest of the Manis family....I am so very sorry for your loss. The Manis' were a huge part of my life for so many years and can still remember Kathy and I doing everything we could to torment the boys, because Kathy was the youngest and the "little sister". With much love, Marjie Matas

To my cousin Johnny Manis, you are already deeply missed. Just last Thursday, while visiting you, you were telling me who was “on your side” in Heaven….. ALL of our relatives who have previously passed over are on your side, Johnny. You are very loved. Nobody could tell a story like Johnny - his details and insight conveyed it all - entertaining you and making you laugh for hours. To Voula and Johnny’s loving, caring children, please find peace in knowing that he knew how much you love him - and you did all that you could for Johnny while he was with you. May His Memory Be Eternal.

I'm at a loss for words. I can only say my memory of John will remain with me forever, and I only met him one time. John and I talked just a few times over the phone, and he wanted to see our property. He came to see our property in just a few days of talking, representing some people, and as he said, for himself. We talked, he met my wife, and he informed us " he wanted to meet us, and everything us was something that comes". He was obviously a person who loved people, as we talked for well over an hour. Peace to you Mr. Manis, and your family. I have no doubt, you & us would have worked out just fine!
