David and Barbie, We were so fortunate to be your neighbors on West Ridge Road in the 80s and 90s. We have so many memories of your mom and dad as we watched you and our boys grow up, Your dad was a man of few words and had a wonderful sense of humor. He lived a long life and was so proud of both of you. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you and your families. Dottie and Mark

    Mark Drechsler writes,
I would like to add to Dottie’s comments. I always enjoyed the many conversations your dad and I had over the 25 years in the neighborhood. It was mostly technical in nature. We both had an interest in fixing things like cars, lawnmowers, weed walkers, and such. He or I would call upon the other to discuss the repair situation and together remedy a possible solution. I valued these conversations with your knowledgeable and caring father.

As a volunteer at the Healthy Lifestyles Fitness Center, I developed a delightful friendship with John. I loved listening to his stories and hearing about his gardening. His pride when talking about his children and grandchildren was beautiful. He will be missed.
