Jean Sanders

Jean Sanders, age 90, of New Castle, DE, passed away on Wednesday August 16, 2017 at The Lorelton in Wilmington, DE.

Jean attended schools in Wilmington and later graduated from James H. Groves High School.

Jean was a full-time mother and homemaker. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother who cherished the times she spent caring for the grandchildren when they were young. Jean was an excellent cook and enjoyed teaching her daughters and grandchildren the fundamentals of cooking and their way around the kitchen.

She was a member of Asbury Methodist Church and a member of the Star Ladies Circle. She enjoyed antiquing, trips to the beach, outings with her daughters and family get-togethers and celebrations.

Jean was predeceased by her husband Leonard Sanders; daughter Linda Pagliaro; grandson Ray Smith; and great-grandson Mikey Pagliaro.

She is survived by her daughters Judy (Pete) Kotowski and Beth (Gene) Piontkowski; son-in-law Robert Pagliaro; grandchildren Stefanie, Michael, Peter (Jill), Kattie (Kevin), Blake, Abigail (Tony) and Jenna; great-grandchildren Krista, Nicole, Anthony, Nicholas and Samantha.

The family would like to express their thanks and gratitude to all the caregivers at The Lorelton and Compassionate Care Hospice for the wonderful care and love they showed “Miss Jean”. Their concern and support was genuine.
