My sincerest condolences to Jason's Family. I served with Jason on the USS Kamehameha (SSN-642). I was a Machinist Mate Chief Petty Officer onboard, and ran the Auxiliary and Shelter Divisions. I was one of the Diving Officers, and Jason and the others in the Sonar shack were my eyes and ears in the water. I wish I had known he lived so close by, as I would have reached out to him a long time ago. I live in Claymont, DE, and my step daughter also attends West Chester University. If there is ever anything I can do for the family, please don't hesitate to reach out to me. Submariners are a very rare breed, and Jason surely was one of the BEST. Rest Easy, young lad. We have the Watch... MMC/SS Kevin Lee LaPlant (Retired). USS Kamehameha (SSN-642) Auxiliary Division, Shelter Division, and Weapons Department LCPO.

My sincerest condolences to the Keeth family. I served with Jason on the USS Kamehameha in the 1990s. I was an Electrician's Mate in the engine room while Jason was in the Sonar shack. It has been nearly 20 years since I have seen Jason. I wish I knew he lived so close to me. I am just outside Philadelphia. Jason was so young when I met him. He was always upbeat and fun to be around. Jason has a lot of brothers from the Kam mourning his loss. You will be missed brother. Rest easy my friend. May God bless the Keeth family.
