Jane Kirby Schaller Bye

Jane Kirby Schaller Bye, 92, of Wilmington, Delaware, passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2025 at Millcroft Living.

She graduated from Decatur Girls’ High School in 1950. Jane then continued her education at the University of Delaware, graduating in 1954. After graduating from the University of Delaware, Jane worked at the Wilmington Public Library from 1954 to 1962. She also worked for the family business for over 20 years.

Jane’s most important job was that of a homemaker. She was an avid baker. One of her favorite times of year was around Christmas when she would bake dozens of dog biscuits for the Christmas Bazaar at her church. Jane regularly attended services at St. Alban’s Episcopal Church.

Jane had an immense love for animals. She regularly supported the SPCA and Delaware Humane Society.

Jane is predeceased by her husband, Coleman E. Bye, Jr. and her sister, Nancy Simmons.

She is survived by her sons Coleman E. Bye III (Kimberly) of Newark, DE and James A. Bye (Debi) of Landenberg, PA; daughter Julia Bye Siegerman (Brad) of West Chester, PA; grandchildren Tyler Bye of Bear, DE, Danielle Bye (Bradie) of Washington, D.C., Nichole Siegerman of New Jersey, and Jake Siegerman of West Chester, PA.
