James S. Tubbs

James S. Tubbs, passed in peace Saturday, November 20, 2021 at the age of 88.

Preceded in death by brothers Bob and Mike, and sister Nancy. Jim is survived by his first wife Carmen and longtime partner Mona. Loving father of Traci and stepfather of Alisa and Steve. Proud grandfather of Brennan, Carlin and Kina. Further survived by Judy Tubbs, his sister-in-law, and nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Jim grew up in Columbus, Ohio, where he attended North High School, then joined the Navy, where he served for six years during the Korean War. He also attended Ohio State University, after which he spent most of his career at Columbia Gas as a human resources executive.

Jim was well-loved by his family and many friends. He was outgoing and popular, and always willing to lend a hand to others to help. He treasured his decades-long daily ritual of exercising at the Jewish Community Center, followed by meeting with his “Romeo” group of good friends most mornings at their favorite coffee shop where they shared stories about Ohio State football, their families, and daily events. His memory will continue on in the hearts and minds of his family and many friends.
