James Emmett Goode, Jr.

James Emmett “Jim” Goode Jr of Wilmington died September 14, 2017. He was 84 years old.

Jim was born in San Antonio, Texas and graduated from Omaha High School, Nebraska in 1952. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Tennessee in 1956. He was commissioned as Second Lieutenant in the United States Air Force, proudly serving his country as a pilot in the late 1950s.

He was a career engineer with Dupont Company in Wilmington, DE and was a member of St. Alban’s Episcopal Church. He resided with his family in North Graylyn Crest, in Hockessin, and most recently in the Village of Rocky Run.

He was predeceased by his father James Emmett Goode (1985), his mother Hazel Spencer Goode (1999), his first wife Jane Phillips Goode (1999), and his second wife Linda Nickel Goode (2013).

Jim is survived by his daughter Nancy Goode Cercy and her husband Michael, son Andrew James Goode, daughter Ellen Lee Goode and her husband David, four granddaughters, and one grandson.
