James Daniels Campbell, III

James Daniels Campbell, III, of West Grove, PA, passed away peacefully Friday, January 5, 2018 surrounded by his loved ones.

Mr. Campbell, a graduate of Pennsylvania Military College (now Widener University) worked as an engineer for DuPont. Mr. Campbell now joins his beloved wife of 52 years, Evelyn Cressman Campbell.

Mr. Campbell is survived by his children; Susan (Sid) of Greensboro, NC; Doug (Lynda) of Chestertown, MD; James IV (Elaine) of Kitty Hawk, NC & Betsy (Leo-Alan) of Kennett Square, PA, as well as his six granddaughters; Jennie (Kevin), Krisi (Kyle), Katie, Laura, Jess, Alexa and three great-grandchildren; Campbell, Patrick and Bennett.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to The Fund for Johns Hopkins Medicine for Pulmonary Fibrosis Research.

Funeral Services

Visitation will be held at the Chandler Funeral Home, 7230 Lancaster Pike, Hockessin, DE, on Wednesday January 10, at 10:00AM with his funeral service starting at 10:30AM.

    It is with great sadness that Roberta and I learned of Jim’s passing. During his five-year marriage to my mother, Kathryn Gerding, before she passed away in 2012, we got to know Jim fairly well and appreciated his warm, caring nature. May he rest in peace.
