James B. Falini

It is with great sadness that our family announces the sudden passing of our brother, James Brian Falini, age 66, of Estero, Florida, on Sunday, August 17, 2025. James, also known as Jim or Jimmy by his friends and loved ones, will be greatly missed.

Jim grew up in Hockessin, Delaware. He loved the water, and as a boy, he enjoyed swimming competitively. He also loved the ocean, and as a young man, Jim spent his summers as a member of the Avalon Beach Patrol from the late 1970s to the late 1980s, earning recognition as a respected senior guard. After graduating with a BA in marketing, he worked in his father’s office as a draftsman, learning the architectural side of the construction business.

This experience led to a successful career as a project manager with several custom home development companies in both Pennsylvania and Florida. Jim ultimately retired in Florida, where he would generously offer his time and skills to help friends, neighbors, or anyone needing assistance. Jim was passionate about helping others and quietly giving of himself. Jim will always be remembered as a kind, peaceful man.

Jim is survived by his lifelong partner, Barbara Beuf. He is also survived by five siblings and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Jim is predeceased by his parents, John and Gwendolyn Falini. Jim will be always in our hearts.

A gathering of remembrance will be held for friends and family on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at 11:00am at Chandler Funeral Home, 7230 Lancaster Pike, Hockessin, DE 19707. Interment will follow at St. Patricks Cemetery, 1516 Ashland Clinton School Road, Hockessin, DE 19707.

My condolences to Jimmy’s family, he was a constant presence at Yorklyn Pool while we were growing up and an excellent swimmer. Jimmy was always smiling and friendly, I ran into him years later and he was still friendly as we caught up on old times. May his memories be a blessing.

Jimmy was one of my best friends growing up. I really enjoyed him and his whole family and especially the cakes his mom made. We were in a play in Kindergarten together and we were dressed as tops, and our job was to spin around. We always laughed about that.

Jimmy and I were partners in the May pole dance at Hockessin Elementary in 1st or 3nd grade(?). I had a wicked crush on him. What a nice guy he was all through school. I'm so sad to read of his passing and my heart goes out to his partner and family.

We very much regret that we are unable to attend Saturday's service for Jimmy so we want to send our deepest sympathy and condolences to our Falini cousins and to Barbara. We have many fond memories getting together with our cousins. It seems Jimmy always had a twinkle in his eye and a smile on his face.

Sorry to hear about Jimmy’s passing. Haven’t seen Jimmy in a long time. I’ve known Jimmy since the first grade at Saint Joe's on the Brandywine. One thing I’ll always remember about Jimmy was when he would bring over his Honda 50 and we go ride it at walkers field. We had a lot of fun with that bike. My sincere condolences to his family and partner Barbara. RIP old friend.
