Herb Gordon Sargeant

Herb Gordon Sargeant slipped peacefully from life, at the age of 90, on Friday January 22, 2021. His wife Marian Sargeant was by his side.
He was born in Sioux City Iowa. Graduated from Iowa State University in 1954 with a BS in Chemical Engineering. Was a Lieutenant in the Army Corps of Engineers from June 1954 to June 1956. In July of 1956 he married Marian R. Simmons in Waukon Iowa. Then began his career with the DuPont Company in August of 1956. He worked in the Pigment department and later in the Engineering department as a lead project Engineer. His career lasted 45 years, retiring in November of 1991.

Herb was an avid amateur photographer and member of the Delaware camera club for many years. He also was a member of the First Unitarian Church of Wilmington for 40 years.

In retirement he loved to travel all over the world with his wife Marian and their cameras. He was proceeded in death by his son Jeffrey Glenn Sargeant. He is survived by his wife of 64 years Marian R. Sargeant, daughter Heather L. Sargeant of Rhode Island, granddaughter Samantha M. King of Rhode Island and grandson Patrick J. King of Maryland.
