Florence Yvonne Swinson

Florence Yvonne Swinson, age 79, of Newark, Delaware passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 with her loving family beside her.

Florence was born in Jersey City, New Jersey, daughter of the late Edward Pollick and Lucille Veech Pollick. She graduated from the Key Skill Business School. She worked as an Administrative Assistant for Valiant Inc., in South Hackensack, NJ . She then worked for HCR Manor Care as the Activity Director from 2003 to 2007. Her most recent employer was CitiGroup in Newark, DE, where she was an Office Clerk from 2007 until 2010.

Florence was an active member of Limestone Presbyterian Church where she was also a member of the Women’s Club and the Bible Studies Women of Limestone. She was also a member of Retro Fitness Club.

In addition to her parents, Florence is pre-deceased by her first husband, James Abate. She is survived by her husband of 10 years, Robert C. Swinson, her daughters; Jodi Sweeney and Lori Talmadge, her step-sons; Michael Swinson and Robert Swinson, Jr., and grandchildren; Tedi Marie, T.J., Mitchell, Kylie and Holden.

A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at Limestone Presbyterian Church, 3201 Limestone Road, Wilmington, DE 19808. A Viewing will be held prior to the service at the church from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Interment will follow in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear, DE.
