Eleanor M. Karvounis

It is with great sadness that we share that our mother, Eleanor, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2022.

Eleanor was born in Easton, PA on October 18, 1933, and was a part of the Moyer Dairy family, which she was very proud of. She is also the “Eleanor” named for Eleanor’s Gifts in Wildwood, NJ, which was founded in 1953 by her ex-husband Dan. She was also an independent Bookkeeper for many years in Wilmington.

She enjoyed going to the Jersey Shore, baking, going to craft fairs and festivals, visiting with friends, going to bible study and was a member of Faith Presbyterian Church. But her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Along with her parents, Theodore Moyer and Margaret Parker Moyer, those that predecease her are twin infant daughters Mary and Margaret, brothers Charles & Ted, and her ex-husband Dan.

Survivors left to cherish her memory are children Dan Karvounis Jr. (Yifat), Karen Terry (Ben), Andrea Bosso (Tom) and grandchildren: Lance, Christian, Daniel and Ethan Karvounis, Ian and Amanda Terry, and Tommy Bosso.

In her memory, share a laugh with family & friends, go outside and enjoy nature, and just appreciate the small things in life.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Sunday Breakfast Mission.

Funeral Services

A luncheon in celebration of her life will be held at a future date. There will be no funeral at her request.

I barely knew Eleanor, only in passing. My sister was her neighbor and when I've visited her I'd see Eleanor and we'd exchange a few words. It didn't take much to know that she was a very nice and very considerate lady. I'll miss seeing her smiling face. My condolences to all and may she rest in peace.

Dan, Karen, & Andrea- I am so sorry for your loss. It seems a long time ago that we were next door neighbors in Fairfax! I remember your mom as “simpatica,” always pleasant, smiling & laughing easily, and often.
