Elaine P. Glisson

Elaine passed away on July 8, 2017 in Lewes, Delaware. She was born in Wilmington, Delaware, on February 20, 1935, to Oscar and Helen (Czajkowski) Peterson. She attended Wilmington High School, and was a 1957 graduate of the University of Delaware. She worked for the DuPont Company as a secretary for 10 years before marrying Alexander L. Glisson, Jr., — “Larry” — on June 15, 1968. She and Larry lived abroad for many years; upon their return, Elaine became a regular at the DuPont Country Club where she played tennis and golf. She was devoted to her corgis and was active in the Pembroke Welsh Corgi Club of the Potomac for decades where she worked her dogs successfully in obedience and agility.

Elaine was a devoted daughter and wife. Larry was the love of her life, and she wanted to be remembered for how much he meant to her, and how happy they were together. He predeceased her on August 23, 1993 and she missed him every day. She is survived by her stepchildren, Linda S. Glisson and Alexander L Glisson, III; her step-grandchildren Laurie Glisson Dukes and John Glisson; her beloved pets “Harry” and “Delilah”; and many friends.
