Edward “Eddie” Aaron Crumley, age 57, of Wilmington, DE, passed away at home surrounded by his family on January 30, 2023.
He was born in Wilmington, DE, son of Everett (“Ed”) Hazeldine and Daisy Crumley Dupper. He spent his career as a carpenter. That is evident in his own home and the homes of many throughout this area. His talent will live on through all of the homes he touched. He started and ran his own business: One Call Construction, because Eddie could do it all.
He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson with his wife, fishing on his boat, trips to their beach house in Millsboro, and all the little things in this life. He loved trips to Jamaica. He was an avid Philadelphia fan, especially the Philadelphia Eagles. He loved his Rottweilers: Harley & Rip. Ed would often be seen enjoying his favorite cocktail: a Crown & Coke. His favorite kind of music was country. He would often enter a room wearing his jeff cap, with his infectious smile and personality, which will be missed by many. Ed’s dry sense of humor did not go unnoticed by many. He was always joking around or messing with someone. That was how Ed showed his love.
He loved and adored his wife Molly. They were to celebrate 20 years of marriage together this upcoming April. Their time spent together is something that many should admire. Life is short, but their love was sweet. They found joy in all aspects of their life together.
Ed spent the last year of his life battling lung cancer. He took on the fight with determination and strength. He was strong and brave. We enjoyed many laughs, tears, and memories through the last year which will carry us through this tough time.
Ed was predeceased by his parents, Ed Hazeldine and Daisy Crumley, his in-laws, Patricia and Jerry McTiernan, and his siblings: Barbara Schultz and Thomas Kelly Crumley.
He is survived by his loving wife, Molly Crumley, children, Courtney (Donald Ostmann) and Connor Bollinger, and his best friend, Rip. He is also survived by his stepmother Edie Hazeldine, sister Ruby Yaggle (Sam), and brothers Fran (Laura) Hazeldine and Don Hazeldine. He will be missed by countless friends who have become family over the years.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, February 3rd and 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 4th. A celebration of Ed’s life will be held on February 4, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. All services will be held at Chandler Funeral Home located at 2506 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE 19803.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to American Lung Association (55 W. Wacker Drive, Suite 1150, Chicago, IL 60601) and the Brandywine SPCA (290 Churchmans Rd, New Castle, DE 19720).
