Edmund (Ed) Charles Brown Jr., age 71, a longtime resident of Wilmington, Delaware and formerly of New York, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, March 18, 2020.
Born on April 11, 1948 in Brooklyn, New York, he was the son of the late Edmund Charles Brown and Marie Theresa Brown. Ed was predeceased by a sister, Eileen Brown.
Ed’s formative years were spent in New York City where he graduated from Brooklyn Technical High School, and later earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from the Cooper Union College. Mr. Brown served his country in the U. S. Navy during the Vietnam era as a librarian at the Naval War College in Rhode Island from 1970 until he was honorably discharged in 1976. Ed worked in the public utility industry, initially with the New York Public Service Commission in Albany, New York, then with Delmarva Power (now an Exelon company) as a Rate Analyst in 1981 until his retirement. In that role, Ed performed research, developed recommendations for appropriate policies, rates and economics. It is a discipline at the nexus of economics, law, engineering and accounting.
Ed is survived by a sister, Carolyn A. Brown who lives in Brooklyn, New York.
Ed’s family and friends give thanks for his memorable life and all whose lives he enriched. Ed was a very honorable compassionate, gentle, honest and caring individual.
Take a moment to pull those close to you a little bit closer. Call your family and friends and tell them how much you love them. Open your arms and embrace life ~ the good, the bad and the beautiful.
