Doris Mae Palmer Shiels (Stork)

Doris Mae Palmer Shiels (Stork), 90 of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully at home with her son by her side on May 20, 2021.  Born and raised in Marcus Hook, PA, the only child of Leonard & Christine Stork, she spent the majority of her life in Wilmington, DE.  Doris graduated from Wesley College in Dover, DE, was an avid bowler, and loved to dance, sing, and travel.  She was a member of Sellers Senior Center and St. Mark’s Lutheran Church.

Doris is survived by her children, Deborah Williams & Jeffrey Palmer, 4 grandchildren, Abby, Nikki, Michael and David, and 8 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, Doris asked that you honor her memory by doing something that makes you happy. Because life is essentially just two dates and a dash. Fill the dash with as many good things as you can. You may also make a donation in Doris’ name to Sellers Senior Center.”

Funeral Services

A visitation for family and friends will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, June 2nd with a funeral service at 12:00 pm at Chandler Funeral Home, 2506 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE.  Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, Doris asked that you honor her memory by doing something that makes you happy. Because life is essentially just two dates and a dash.
