Claude L. Beaudoin

Claude L. Beaudoin, 91, of Wilmington died peacefully on Friday, March 28, 2025 at Christiana Hospital, following a brief illness.

He was born in December of 1933, in Manchester, NH, the son of John and Clara (Lemieux) Beaudoin.  Claude was raised by a very determined mother, grandmother, and several aunts, in a tight-knit family full of many cousins.  He never forgot eating cake and listening to the radio on his 8th birthday, and hearing about the attack on Pearl Harbor.

He graduated from Manchester West High School, the University of New Hampshire and the George Washington University School of Law.  Claude used his chemical engineering degree from UNH to study patent law at GW.

Claude shared 69 years of marriage with the love of his life, Nancy (Rasp) Beaudoin.  They both grew up in Manchester.  They became high school sweethearts, then a few years after high school they eloped in Las Vegas.  Over the years Claude and Nancy lived in California and Maryland, settling in Wilmington.  They enjoyed spending time on Hutchinson Island, FL. He was a patent attorney for the DuPont Company and NL Industries, before retiring from Armstrong. Never one to fully retire, Claude, until recently, owned and operated Polydel Corporation in Wilmington.

In addition to his wife, Claude’s family members include his son Gregory (Gina), of Wilmington; his daughter Ann (Ronald Rodgers) of Durham, NH; grandson Benjamin Rodgers (Maria) of Paris, France and granddaughter Emily Rodgers (Heather) of Dublin, Ireland.

He was predeceased by his parents and brother John.

Greg, Gina, Ann & Ron, My condolences. I wish you strength and the comfort of family and friends during these difficult days. I have warm memories of time at your home during high school. Your dad and mom were so kind and welcoming to me; the door was always open. Your dad was truly remarkable in his breadth of achievements. You can be very proud. Cherish the sweet memories. Peace to you all.
