Chukwuemeka (Chux) Amobi

With gratitude to God for the gift of his life, we announce the passing of Chukwuemeka (Chux) Amobi.  Chux was born in1973 in Syracuse, NY.  He attended Tower Hill high school and graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

A truly unique individual, Chux was an extremely giving person who was kind to others and always willing to help.  He also had a quiet, yet fun personality and sense of humor that was appreciated by those he crossed paths with.  Although his presence will be missed, his peaceful nature and impact on his friends and family will always be felt.  He is gone, but his spirit lives on.

Chux is survived by his brother EJ Amobi, his mother Darleen Amobi and his father Eugene J. Amobi.

Funeral Services

Service and interment will be held at Mount Lebanon United Methodist Church, 11:00am ET, Thursday December 21, 2017.

I would like to extend my sincere condolences. I was friends with Chux at MIT and have very fond memories of him. He was extremely nice and kind, and was also a very fun person to be with. He was generous and always warm. I remember going to parties with him during a summer that I stayed to work at MIT, as well as just hanging around. I valued our friendship and am comforted knowing that he is with God.
