Christian “CJ” Colteryahn

Christian J. “CJ” Colteryahn, age 45, went peacefully to be with our Lord and Savior on Thursday, December 9, 2021 at his home.

Born in Canonsburg, PA in 1976, he was the son of Steve and Nancy (Rumberger) Colteryahn; brother of Cassandra “Kacey” Colteryahn; and proud father of Madison Ashlyn Rice. He is also survived by his niece Alexys and great-niece Yezeilyah Lyrik “Ya Ya” Colteryahn.

CJ moved to Delaware in 1990 and attended William Penn and Newark High Schools. He was a member of the United Steel Workers Local 6628 and worked at Insteel Wire in Wilmington. When he was younger, CJ loved soccer, roller skating, and camping with friends in White Clay Creek State Park. His favorite thing to do with his daughter was explore the world together, wherever DART would take them.

CJ struggled with substance abuse for several years. Finding a moments of peace to silence his struggles and show his true heart and love for his family. During the last few years he battled health issues and fought courageously to the end.

A memorial service for CJ will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family

Words cannot express the pain my heart feels for your entire family. A parent should never have to bury their child. We all know he was loved unconditionally and you did all you could. God must have had a different plan for him. Love you all. May God heal him n cradle him in his arms until you are all together again.
