Cheryl Bradley Lundahl

Cheryl Bradley Lundahl, a beloved wife, mother, and Nana, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith and quiet strength.

Cheryl was born in Chatham, New Jersey and was a proud “Army brat” whose early life was marked by the resilience and adaptability of growing up in a military household.  The experiences and memories she and her family of five shared on bases from Alaska to Japan, helped Cheryl grow into a loyal and independent woman. She built lasting bonds with her siblings, Susan and Scott, during memorable camping trips, overseas adventures and days spent on the base of Fort Dix, NJ.  Her upbringing truly shaped her character, instilling a strong sense of discipline, deep-rooted patriotism, and a profound respect for the military community.

A graduate of Western Kentucky University, Cheryl majored in early education.  This was a formative time in her life that not only led to her career as a proud second grade teacher, but also to lifelong friendships with her Chi Omega sorority sisters.  After graduation, she married her high school sweetheart, Dean, and went on to become the proud mother of two daughters whom she loved beyond measure and supported in every season of life.  One of her greatest joys was her six grandchildren, who brought light to her days and laughter to her home.  She cherished each of them deeply, supported them unconditionally, and delighted in watching them grow and flourish.

Cheryl was blessed with a close-knit circle of friends whom she met early in her adult life and treasured deeply.  That circle expanded over the past fifteen years to include new and dear friends in Naples, Florida when Cheryl and Dean began spending their winters there.  She also developed strong bonds and shared special memories with a small friend group she met abroad.  Cheryl and Dean developed a real love of travel, most recently visiting Europe, and the Normandy beaches where her father landed on D-Day in 1944.

Finding joy in life’s simple blessings, Cheryl enjoyed long walks with her precious golden retrievers, reading, spending time outdoors tending to her yard and flowers, sitting oceanside watching her grandchildren play in the waters off of Long Beach Island, NJ, and creating a perfectly cultivated home filled with love.  Known for being exceptionally organized, she believed that order brought peace, and her home was always a welcoming place of warmth and safety.  A woman of strong Catholic faith, Cheryl lived her life guided by prayer, service, and trust in God’s plan.  Her faith was steady and sincere, offering comfort and strength to her family.  And they take great solace in knowing she has been welcomed into the loving arms of our Lord and is reunited with family and friends in heaven.

Cheryl will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her steady presence, and the care and warmth she gave so freely to others. She will be forever cherished by her loving husband of 56 years, Dean O. Lundahl Jr.; her daughters, Kimberly Huntington (Brett) and Brooke Blair (Dylan); her sister, Susan Cullis; her sister-in-law, Sue Bradley; and her brother-in-law, Bill Lundahl (Joy).  Cheryl will also be lovingly remembered by her six beautiful grandchildren, Paige, Graham, Avery, Gavin, Bradley and Elle; and her many beloved nieces and nephews.  She is proceeded in death by her mother, Ethel Reece Bradley; her father, Stanley Bradley; her brother, Scott Bradley; and her brother-in-law, Michael Cullis.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude for the many prayers, kind messages, and expressions of support that have sustained them during this profoundly difficult time. In celebration of Cheryl’s life, friends and family are invited to attend a visitation on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at 10:00am at St. Joseph on the Brandywine Catholic Church, 10 Church Road, Greenville, DE. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, if you would like to donate in her memory, please consider St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Cheryl will be forever loved, deeply missed, and always remembered.
