Carolyn Marie Douglas

Carolyn Marie Douglas, 61, of Wilmington, Delaware, passed away peacefully with her devoted husband of 39 years, Duane Douglas Jr., by her side on December 6, 2025. Born in 1964, Carolyn lived a life defined by devotion, kindness, and unwavering love for those closest to her.

Carolyn adored her family and cherished every moment spent with them. The beach was her happy place—somewhere she found peace and joy. She loved helping Duane with his bees and caring for her beloved dog, Gunner, who was always by her side. Carolyn was a dedicated and proud employee of Citibank, where she formed lasting friendships and touched many lives through her hard work and warm spirit.

Above all, Carolyn was a loving and devoted mother. She is survived by her children: Shanell DeBright (Andrew), Ryan Douglas (Joeylynn), and Alexa Douglas (Chris). She was a proud and adoring grandmother to Dameon, Ava, Sebastian, Xavier, and Camilla, who brought immense joy into her life.

Carolyn is also survived by her sisters, Linda Dunlap (Robin) and Nancy Wilson (Dave); and her cherished niece and nephews, Angela Kaushal, James Wilson, and Zachary Wilson.

Her family finds comfort in knowing she is at peace, reunited with loved ones, and forever carried in the hearts of those who knew her. Carolyn’s strength, compassion, and gentle presence will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

A viewing will be held on Sunday, December 14, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Chandler Funeral Home, 2506 Concord Pike, Wilmington, Delaware 19803. Burial will be private.

I was 14 and you were 17 the summer we met, working at a fruit and vegetable stand that we hated. But the summer had the best memories of youth because you made it so exciting and fun! You will be a permanent fixture in my fondest memories. May God bless you and your precious family at this profoundly difficult and painful time.
