Arlene Raymond

Arlene Raymond was born in 1927 in Danville, Virginia to George Keatts and Belle Stone-Keatts.  She departed her earthly life into eternal rest surrounded by her family at her home on April 6, 2020.

Arlene was educated in the Ridley School District and employed by Westinghouse before retiring.  Arlene met Mr. Percy H. Raymond, Sr. in the 1940’s.  She became his loving wife upon his return from the Armed Forces.  From this union, they had 12 loving children.

Arlene was a helper to everyone she would meet.  She would never turn anyone away, would say “help them if they need help”.  She enjoyed cooking and you were always welcome to a meal at her table.  At any given time, Arlene would be seen playing in her yard with her grandchildren, watching moving, or eating fried chicken and crabs.  Every Saturday the family would gather to play Monopoly and Pokeno.

Arlene joined Siloam United Methodist Church in Chester, Pennsylvania in 2000 where she served on the Steward Committee.  She helped prepare the meals for the church and community members.

She was predeceased by her parents, husband Percy H. Raymond, Sr., six siblings Grace Adams, Beulah A. Robertson, Annie Wade Giggetts, Adolphus Keatts, George Keatts and Maurice Keatts, and four sons Gary Keatts, Dwight Raymond, Sr., Kevin Raymond, Sr. and Derric Raymond, Sr.

Arlene leaves her loving children to cherish her memory, Lorraine Pope, Twin Oaks, PA, Jan Guy (Wayne Guy, Sr.), Denise Raymond, Chester, PA, Percy H. Raymond, Jr., Media PA, Rodney Raymond, Altoona, PA, Doreen Raymond-Smith (Frank Smith, Sr.) New Castle, DE, Sandra Raymond-Williams, Elkton, MD (Samuel Williams, SC), and Christopher Raymond (Angela Raymond), Houston, TX, in-laws, Ruth Raymond, Charles Raymond, Sr. and Dorothy Raymond.  She is also survived by three special grandchildren she lived with who were also her caregivers, Kevin Dale, F. Andre Smith and Kristopher Raymond, special friends Angela Taylor and Alexis Hazel, a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and other loved family members.
