Anna Christine “Tina” Goldrick

Anna Christine “Tina” DeGeorge Goldrick, 76, of Hockessin, Delaware, died on December 24, 2025. Born in 1949, Tina was known for her sense of fun, her wide circle of family and friends, and her lifelong commitment to caring for others.

Tina DeGeorge, the youngest of Charles and Anne DeGeorge’s four children, grew up in Wilmington. She graduated from Brandywine High School and earned a B.S. in Nursing from the University of Delaware. She was drawn toward independent nursing roles outside the traditional hospital hierarchy, where she could combine caregiving with practical problem-solving. Her last role was as a public health nurse for the state of Delaware, working closely with mothers of newborns.

Tina and her husband Ralph, who met in college, raised their two children (and four Shelties) in Hockessin. She was devoted to her family and proud of all of their accomplishments. She was happiest whenever they could all be reunited in their family home. Tina and Ralph enjoyed gathering with their Delaware family most weekends and visiting relatives in Charlotte, Chicago, and Florida. She spoke almost every night with her beloved “Seester,” Bernadette. Tina also stayed closely connected to the “Brandywine Girls” from high school and maintained friendships from college, nursing and the neighborhood throughout her life.

Tina was a constant behind-the-scenes leader. As a matriarch of the Charter Oaks neighborhood, she made things happen, organizing progressive dinners and rotating pinochle, bridge and mahjong dates. She was actively involved in the Greater Hockessin Area Development Association for over 25 years, most recently as Secretary. At St. Mary’s of the Assumption Church, Tina served as CCD principal, founded a babysitting co-op, and launched a twice-yearly tag sale.

Tina loved hosting and took great pleasure in family holidays and traditions. Her flair for seasonal decorating was well known. She brought extended family together as often as possible, especially the Fourth of July and Christmas. Her Yummy Bars and mint meringue cookies were legendary holiday treats.

She loved shopping, especially a good bargain, and once funded a cross-country family vacation using Skippy peanut butter labels. She enjoyed cards and games (most recently the bird game Wingspan), playing the piano and singing, beach trips, the Beatles, birds, and The Sound of Music.

Tina is survived by her husband, Ralph; her son, Matt (Chris); her daughter, Kristin (Derald); her sister, Bernadette Aston (Wayne); her brother, Brian DeGeorge (Pam); and many nieces, nephews, and grand- and great-grandnieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Charlie.

A visitation will be held at 10:00 am and a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am at St. Mary’s of the Assumption Church, 7200 Lancaster Pike Hockessin, DE 19707 on Friday, January 9, 2026. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Food Bank of Delaware.

I first met Tina at Alfred I DuPont Elementary School. She was smart and kind and always seemed happy. As we progressed through the years, she always demonstrated strong leadership…just the step in and get stuff done type. I can’t even imagine her without that great smile, the smile she gave freely. Rest in peace, Tina.
