Angelo J. Pinghera

Angelo “Dee” J. Pinghera, 73, of Wilmington passed away at home on Thursday, February 2, 2017 after a long battle with cancer.

Born in Long Island City, NY and raised in Brooklyn, Angelo attended Boy’s High School before proudly serving in the US Air Force while stationed at the Dover Air Force Base.

Angelo loved to sing, enjoyed playing in a men’s adult softball league where he was also a coach, and was a season ticket holder and avid fan of the Philadelphia Eagles.

Angelo is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Carole A. (Paski) Pinghera, son Andrew Pinghera, daughter in law Dawn Pinghera, grandchildren Brittany Fuller and husband Steven Fuller, Nicholas Pinghera and fiancé Kiara Winslow, Samantha Pinghera and fiancé Taylor Young, and Jonathan Pinghera. He is also survived by his great grandchild Delaney Fuller, mother Congetta Pinghera, brother Thomas Pinghera and his wife Adele Pinghera, and nephews Michael Scott and his wife Susan Scott, Lewis Pinghera and Gregory Pinghera.

Angelo was preceded in death by son, Brian Pinghera, father, John Pinghera, sister in law, Sandra Conner, and nephew Jeffery Scott.

Funeral Services

Friends may visit the family on Monday, February 6, 2017 from 6-8PM at Chandler Funeral Home, 7230 Lancaster Pike, Hockessin DE 19707. A second visitation will be held on February 7, 2017 at 9AM with a Mass of Christian Burial immediately following at 10AM at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 7200 Lancaster Pike, Hockessin DE 19707. Burial will be on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at 2PM at Delaware Veterans Memorial, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE 19701.
