Aimee Porter Harrison Parris of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, passed away at the Colleton Medical Center in Waterboro, South Carolina, on February 9, 2017 after a short illness.
Aimee was born in Richmond, Virginia, daughter of Sarah Schutt Harrison of Greenville, Delaware and the late Herbert Preston Harrison of Richmond and Petersburg, Virginia.
Aimee attended Collegiate School and graduated from St. Catherine’s School, both in Richmond, Virginia. She attended Mount Vernon College in Washington, D.C., Washington College in Chestertown, Maryland and the Tante Marie School of Cookery in England. After graduating from cooking school she came back to graduate from Mount Vernon College.
Aimee is survived by her husband James Layton Parris, her mother Sarah Schutt Harrison, her sister Phyllis Eleuthera Harrison Ballantine of Easton, Maryland, her sister Renee duPont Harrison Drake of Chicago, Illinois, her brother Scott Preston Harrison of Richmond, Virginia and their Spouses, five Nephews, one niece and twin step children. She will be remembered for her sense of humor, great cooking and the love of her many dogs.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Aimee’s memory to the Colleton County Historical and Preservation Society, 205 Church Street, Waterboro, SC 29488, or any organization that cares for dogs when their owners can no longer care for them.
