Mary Anita Marchese Lockerman, age 78, of Ardentown, DE., passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at her home with her beloved husband Robert (Bob) Lockerman and her sister Lucille Marchese by her side.
Mary was born in Norristown, PA., daughter of the late Joseph C. and Leah Calabrese Marchese. She graduated from the Bishop Kendrick High School and from the Pierce Business School. She and her husband Bob were owner/operators of retail gift shoppes. They celebrated 50 years of marriage in June of 2022.
Mary was a sweet and gentle soul, she always enjoyed spending time in her gardens, at their pond feeding the koi fish and years ago, working at their gift shop.
In addition to her parents, Mary is predeceased by her only daughter, Ashley Brie Lockerman and by her brother Joseph David Marchese. She is survived by her husband, Robert (Bob) Lockerman, her siblings; Joseann Marchese of Florida, Michael Marchese, Lucille Marchese and Audrey Marchese, all of Pennsylvania, her brother-in-law, Ronald Lockerman (Andrea) of Delaware, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, April 14, 2023 at 3:00 PM at the Chandler Funeral Home, 2506 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE 19803. A Visitation will be held prior at the funeral home from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. The interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Arden Community Recreation Association, 2119 The Highway, Arden, DE 19810.
