Joan Hulihan

Joan Marie Hulihan (Skivo) of Wilmington, DE passed away on Friday, November 12, 2021 at the age of 90.

Joan was born in Philadelphia, PA where she met her husband Joseph Hulihan.  They were married in 1953 and later moved in 1972 to Wilmington, DE where they raised their three sons.  Joan enjoyed playing golf, traveling with her husband, and spending time with her family especially with her five grandchildren.

Joan was predeceased by her husband Joseph and her brother Alex.  She is survived by her sons Joseph (Sharon) of Newtown, PA, Charles (Melissa) of Bear, DE and John of Wilmington, DE, grandchildren John, Alexandra, Katie, Betsy, and Emily and her sister Margaret Palmer (Charles) of Holland, PA.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 27, 2021 from 10:00-11:00 am at Chandler Funeral Home, 2506 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE where a memorial service will follow at 11:00 am. Burial will be private.

    Grammy, we love you so much. I have such great memories of you that I will never forget. We had so much fun playing pizza and making forts. As I grew up, it was very clear to me just how loving and special you were, you are the sweetest woman I have ever had the pleasure of meeting and you were my Grandmother. What a blessing. I remember to always say my payers the way you taught me. “Angel of God, My Guardian Dear, to whom His love commits me here, ever this day, be at my side, to light and guard, to rule and guide. Amen". We Love you Grammy.
