Marcos D. Cotrotsios

Marcos Dimitrios Cotrotsios peacefully passed away on October 6, 2026 in Wilmington, DE, at home surrounded by family. He was preceded in death by his siblings George, Kostas, and Vasiliki. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Honora Cotrotsios; his sons, James (Stacey) and Henry (Luanne); and his daughter, Anne (the late Tom); and his seven grandchildren: Marc, Dimitrios, Michael, Thomas, Sophia, John, and Katharine.

Marcos was born in Galatini, a small mountain village in northern Greece, in 1931 to his loving parents, Dimitrios Cotrotsios and Anna Alexiu. He survived the German occupation of Greece as a young boy and emigrated to America in 1957. While living in NYC, he met his wife, who had emigrated from Great Britain. He worked in the garment district in NYC at his company, Marcos Cotrotsios Furs, moved his family to the NJ suburbs, and put his three children through college.

He liked nothing better than having his family around him and being able to take care of those he loved. He put his family first in every decision he made and will be sorely missed by everyone who was fortunate enough to spend time with him.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 13, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph on the Brandywine Church, 10 Old Church Rd., Wilmington, DE 19807. Interment will follow.
