Ronald Honorowski

With hearts full of gratitude and sorrow, we announce the passing of Ronald F. Honorowski, age 78, from Hockessin, Delaware.  He passed away peacefully at home on July 8, 2026, with his beloved wife by his side, leaving behind a legacy of service, dedication, and love for his family, country, and community.

Ron proudly served his country in the United States Coast Guard before beginning a distinguished career with the New Castle County Police Department. Throughout his years of service, he was known for his integrity, compassion, and unwavering commitment to protecting others.

Ron was deeply passionate about sports.  Outside of his career, Ron found great joy in mentoring young athletes. He devoted many years to coaching baseball at Canal Little League and Piedmont Babe Ruth, where he taught not only the fundamentals of the game but also the values of teamwork, sportsmanship, and perseverance.

In his free time, Ron enjoyed watching sports and historical programs, spending time on the golf course, and traveling with his family to create lasting memories together.  Ron appreciated life’s simple pleasures.

Above all, Ron was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his beloved wife, Christine; his children, Victoria (Chris) and Daniel; and his cherished grandchildren, Bryce, Tristan, Matthieu, Courtney, and Eva along with a large loving extended family and dear friends. Those who knew Ron understood his devotion to his family was his utmost priority.   He anchored his life with hard work, generosity, honesty, and willingness to help anyone in need. His dedication to his family, his country, his profession, and his community leave a legacy that will continue to inspire all who knew him.  He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.

The family wishes to express sincere gratitude to Ron’s physicians, Medical Oncology and Hematology Consultants, and AccentCare Hospice for the exceptional care, kindness, and support they provided throughout his illness.

During my time on the New Castle County Police Department, Ron was like my big brother, and I loved him like a brother. We ended up in the Records unit together and Ron taught me so much. I remember my daughter was around 10 at the time, and she and Ron used to tease each other all the time. Ron was one of the best men I have ever known.
