Frank Nardi, 83, of Hockessin, Delaware, passed away peacefully on June 16, 2026.
Born in 1943, in West Pittston, Pennsylvania, Frank was the son of the late Rose and Marty Nardi. He earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering through studies at the University of Scranton and the University of Detroit, laying the foundation for a distinguished and successful career.
Frank dedicated more than 40 years to DuPont, serving in management positions throughout the United States and abroad. His career took him from Parlin, New Jersey, to Wilmington, Delaware, and Frankfurt, Germany, as well as to DuPont subsidiary Berg Electronics in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, before returning to Wilmington. He was respected for his leadership, professionalism, and commitment to excellence.
In 1987, Frank and his family made their home in Hockessin, where he remained for the rest of his life. While proud of his professional accomplishments, Frank’s greatest joy was his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose love for those around him was evident in everything he did.
Frank cherished spending time with his children and grandchildren, enthusiastically attending their activities, celebrating their accomplishments, and creating lasting memories with them. He was an avid reader, enjoyed golfing, and loved watching sports—especially golf, tennis, and Philadelphia sports teams. Family beach vacations were among his favorite traditions, and he was often the one who sparked the fun, organized games, and encouraged everyone to make the most of their time together. Always ready for an adventure or a backyard game, Frank brought warmth, laughter, and energy wherever he went.
A man of deep faith, Frank was known for his kindness, humility, and generosity of spirit. He was a trusted source of wisdom, perspective, and guidance for family and friends alike. His gentle nature, steady presence, and unwavering love will be profoundly missed.
Frank is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Gert Nardi; his daughters, Gina Marie Moore and Christine Mitchell and her husband, Jeff Mitchell; his grandchildren, Anthony Moore, Sophia Mitchell, Maria Moore, Ava Mitchell, and James Mitchell; and his sister, Corinne Butera.
Frank’s legacy lives on through the family he cherished, the values he instilled, and the countless lives he touched through his kindness, faith, and example. He will be remembered with love, gratitude, and admiration by all who knew him.
