Barbara Henry

Barbara Henry, age 83, of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2026. Born and raised in Mooresburg, PA, Barbara attended Danville High School. In 1966, she relocated to Wilmington, Delaware to raise her family. Throughout her life, Barbara was deeply involved in her children’s activities, serving as the “home room mom,” the “field trip mom,” and frequently volunteering to host end-of-school-year picnics.

After raising her children, Barbara pursued her interests in cooking and fashion. She worked as both an employee and manager at Creative Cooking. Barbara was chosen to decorate the display windows at the Hotel DuPont. She conducted televised cooking demonstrations, and her holiday table displays were featured in national magazines.

Barbara was also a talented salesperson, selling women’s clothing at Jos. A. Bank, where she rose to number four in sales nationwide. Additionally, she worked at the Wilmington Country Store.

Barbara cherished time spent with friends and family, especially during holidays and summers in Ocean City, NJ with her children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Frank and Martha Davis, and her devoted husband, Fredrick Henry.

Barbara is survived by her loving sisters, Caroline Hyde and Beverly Stiner. She leaves behind her cherished children: Rob and his wife Alicia, Jamie and his wife Darlene, and Ann and her husband Gavin. Barbara was affectionately known as “Mimi” to her seven grandchildren—Robby, Catherine, James, Jack, Max, Josh, and Emma—and she was also blessed with a great-granddaughter, Layla.
