Esther Marcozzi

Esther passed away surrounded by her loving family, December 8, 2020, after a lengthy illness.

She was born in Providence, RI in 1929, to Crescenzo and Giuseppina (Pari) Santagata, and was one of nine children in the family.

She married her loving husband, Ralph Marcozzi, in June of 1958, and re-located to Wilmington, De with him. She always thought she would return to her beloved RI.Β  Here she spent 62 years as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her enjoyment in her later years included playing cards, golfing, and frequenting the Casino. Esther will be missed by all who knew her.

Esther is survived by her loving husband, Ralph; her children, Shelly (Josh) Ploener, and Chris Marcozzi (Susan). In addition, she was the proud grandmother of Jason, Kimberly, Amanda and AJ, who will miss her dearly. She also leaves behind her youngest sister, Marie Oliver (Jack) of East Providence, RI. She is also survived by many in-laws, nieces and nephews here and in RI.

Esther was pre-deceased by her parents, seven siblings, and three nieces and one nephew.

Due to the issues with Covid-19, services and internment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to her favorite charity, the Ronald McDonald House at 1901 Rockland Road, Wilmington, DE 19803

Funeral Services

A memorial service to celebrate Esther’s life will be held in the near future, when it is safe to gather.
