Jean E. Newman

Jean Ellen DuHadaway Newman passed peacefully at her home on June 1st, 2020.   Jean has been reunited with her love of 65 years, Donald, who passed January 16, 2019 and their daughter Dawn.

Jean loved many things, but the thing she loved the most was her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She enjoyed art, gardening, antiquing, yard sales, the beach, her Cadillac, her favorite red lipstick and listening to Proud Mary.  She was a collector of many things and an animal lover.  You could often find her feeding her vultures, the deer and raccoons.

In her younger years, Jean was very active in her church. She loved teaching Sunday school, singing in the choir, and going to the Indian Reservation in Minnesota to share God’s word.  She was a loving and caring person, and her grandkids and great grand kids were her world.  Family was everything to Jean.

She is predeceased by her father (Calvin DuHadaway), her mother (Estella Price DuHadaway), her daughter (Dawn Newman) and her husband (Donald Newman).   She is survived by her 4 children (Don, Debi, David and Dan), 10 grand children (Danielle, Jill, Julie, Alexa, Dana, Jennifer, Jason, Morgan, Taylor, Max) and 15 great grand children (Zach, Elena, Thomas, Amaya, Carter, Riley, Reece, Kaylee, Avery, Jackson, Jacob, Brayden, Anthony, Gabriel and Julian).

Nana, I miss you more than you will ever know. I don’t know how I will get through without you. My love for you is everlasting and I will never forget you and there will never be anyone that can replace you. I’m trying not to cry, because I know you wouldn’t want me to. Thank you for all of the memories. Thank you for loving me whether it was good times or bad. I hope you had the most wonderful welcoming to Heaven....... I can only imagine!!! I love you a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck. I hope you and poppy and dawn (and nana baby and pop) had the most amazing time being reunited. Try to look down on us, and let us know you are near. The red cardinals and hearts have been showing up left and right since you and poppy left.... please keep them coming. I love you. I miss you!

Her smile and spirit was infectious. I always called her beautiful at church and she returned the compliment. Both her and Mr. Newman always had a sparkle in their eye and would hug and kiss me like I was one of their own grandchildren. You don't find genuine love like that anymore. May the Lord bless you family with peace and memories that last a lifetime! They most certainly lived a life well done!

I am so sorry to here about your loss. Mrs Newman was a wonderful lady I have missed talking to her ever since I stoped cutting her lawn in West Cape May. My condolences go to the entire Newman family.

Anna and I had a lot of wonderful meals with Don and Jean at the Booths Corner Farmer's Market in Boothwyn, PA. Dinner would usually start at 7:30 pm on Friday night and we saw quite a few of the grandchildren there as well. Anna and I first met Don and Jean at First Alliance Church in Hockessin, Delaware and we wish their family our heartfelt condolences. Thank You.
