Catherine Loretta Corcoran Kohl

Catherine Corcoran Kohl, age 86, of Wilmington, DE passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at Sunrise Nursing Home in Media, PA.

Catherine was born in Forty Fort, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Francis and Catherine Cawley Corcoran. She graduated from the Forty Fort High School and the Felt & Tarrant Business School of Scranton, PA.

Catherine worked as an accounting clerk for Kraft Foods for 10 years. Following her accounting career, she then worked as a physician’s assistant for 20 years with Doctors Oz and Davies in Wilmington, DE.

Catherine with her late husband Bob, served as a volunteer with the chaplain’s department at the Christiana and Wilmington Hospitals emergency rooms. She volunteered with the Ministry of Caring, the Red Cross Transportation Dept., the Salvation Army Red Kettle program and a variety of Pro-Life and Catholic Lay Ministries. Catherine enjoyed attending the Academy of Lifelong Learning.

In addition to her parents, Catherine is also pre-deceased by her husband, Robert F. Kohl, Sr. She is survived by her son Robert F. Kohl, Jr, her grandchildren; Gabriel and Nathaniel Kohl, a niece, Jennifer Ivers and several close friends who cared for her.

A private graveside committal service will be held at St. Joseph’s on the Brandywine Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Catherine’s memory to, St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church, 7 Sharpley Road, Wilmington, DE 19803.
