Ruby Robinson

Ruby Robinson, the youngest of eleven children of the late McKinley and Senora Wiggs, after a lengthy battle with cancer, departed this life on December 31, 2025 at the Country House in Wilmington, Delaware.  Ruby was born on October 25, 1935 in Baltimore, Maryland.  She was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System where she graduated from Frederick Douglass High School.  After high school, Ruby worked for Chesapeake and Potomac Telephone Company where she served as a supervisor until her retirement.

Ruby married the late Dewey Robinson and out of this union two sons were born.  She is survived by her two sons, Dewey and Breck and wife Jacqueline, her grandsons, Brandon, Bryce, Evan and Owen, two step-grandsons, Samuel and Michael.  In addition, she leaves to mourn a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

In her free time Ruby and Dewey enjoyed traveling the world, going to dances and spending time with family.  She also took great pride in her appearance as evident by her monthly trips to get her hair and nails done.   The last couple of years of her life were spent at the Country House where she enjoyed new friends and had a special relationship with someone she viewed as a sister.

The family would like to receive family and friends to celebrate the life of Ruby at the Country House, 4830 Kennett Pike, Wilmington, DE 19807 on Saturday, January 17th from 2:00-4:00.  In lieu of flowers contributions can be made in memory of Ruby to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 (www.stjude.org).
