Theodore Fillos

Theodore Fillos, age 96, transitioned to his next life January 5, 2026.

He led a full life, born in South Dakota, joined the navy, graduating from the Naval School of Photography in 1947. After discharge, he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from Northern State in South Dakota. He joined the DuPont company, was employed in international marketing spending many years working in Japan and Hong Kong. After retirement he was a volunteer at the Kalmar Nyckel Foundation, flew sail planes, and traveled extensively.

His daughter Deborah and his sisters predeceased him. Survivors are his wife, Grace, stepsons Daniel Beggs, Jeffrey Beggs (Wendy), stepdaughter Judy Reugamer (Mike), five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services

Visitation will be held at Chandler Funeral Home, 7230 Lancaster Pike, Hockessin, DE, on Monday January 12, at 11:00am, followed by the funeral service at 12:00PM.

    I worked with Ted at Dupont, and after he retired, we got together again in 1983 to build sailboats on the Christina River. While the venture only lasted for a few years, I’ve always considered Ted as a friend and confident. My condolences to the family.

We met Ted through our daughter Liana, when she married Danny(Daniel) Beggs. ) it was always a joy talking to Ted at our cookouts and at birthday parties for the grand kids. He always had a smile on his face, He would always tell me how good the food was! Ted,,may you rest in eternal peace,,my friend, Thankyou for loving my grandkids and my daughter , Liana . You will surely be missed.

    God bless Ted's family...I worked with Ted at Dupont for many years in Photo Products. He was one of the kindest ❤️ people I've ever met. I still have the Kalmar Nyckel pin on my yacht cap he gave me. May Ted's soul rest in peace 🙏.
