Cookie Ohlson lit a candle and writes,
Marvin was such a giving man, and his hospitality was unending. My deepest sympathy goes out to his family and the legion of friends who will dearly miss him. Nothing delighted Marvin more than a "good find" at he flea market. If he saw something that made him think of you, he bought it for you. So many of us are left to treasure the hand picked trinkets, and even the shirts on our backs, that came from Marvin's kind thoughtfulness.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to Kate, Brian and all of the Sayer Family over the loss of Marvin. He was truly one of the good guys that's so hard to encounter during one's lifetime. Marvin was an easy going, some might even say unflappable, human being. He was a true dog lover, just ask any pooch that was lucky enough to have Marvin as his human. My memories of Marvin go back over 65 years; as a childhood friend, classmate, coworker, pal and an adult friend who was always ready to have a good time. Marvin, you will truly be missed!

Kathy and family, so sorry to hear of Marvin's passing. Spent many enjoyable times with him and our crowd. He was an extremely kind, humorous and engaging person, and I've often remembered those days. One of my favorites was several of the gals dressing up as "Marvin Sayer Groupies" on Halloween, which proves how much he meant to us. He will be missed by many. Take Care Kathy.

    Steve Newman Sr. writes,
He will be sorely missed I have known him from the New Castle Market since the late 1990's when he had his restaurant, and when he finally retired he would come out most weekends with his dog and visit, always bringing me snacks etc. He would always send me a card when he was up in the mountains in the summer and from florida in the winter. He was one the nicest, friendlest people I ever knew. We were always more concerned with his wife's health these past years than his, which makes his passing even more heartbreaking. I will miss him dearly
