Paul Muller III, a 30-year resident of Chadds Ford, PA died peacefully at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania on Monday, January 6, 2020.
Paul’s early years were spent in the Worthington Valley area of Baltimore County raising show cattle and driving the horse van for his sisters Penny Muller Gahan and Joan Muller Peterson.
Paul was a stand-out athlete in football and lacrosse at St. Paul’s School in Brooklandville, MD. He graduated in 1963. Paul went on to the University of Maryland, College Park where he received his degree in Journalism and again excelled at lacrosse achieving honorable mention All-American in lacrosse.
Paul’s professional career began at Maryland National Bank in Baltimore. His career path took him to New York City and Wall Street as the Marketing Director of Irving Trust Bank and eventually to MBNA America where he stayed until he retired in 2005.
During Paul’s professional career, he became known as having a keen eye for marketing trends but more importantly having a keen eye for finding talented people. He felt it was important to identify and advance the careers of those with whom he worked, in the process it would enable creativity and good business decisions.
Paul is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Mary Patricia (Weitzmann) Muller and beloved son Luke Muller of Kennett Square, PA., his sisters Margaret Muller Gahan of Greenville, SC, Joan Muller Peterson of Colorado, brothers Peter Muller of Wilmington, DE and Mark Muller of East Bloomfield, New York.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made to The Gladney Center for Adoption, Ft. Worth, TX.
