Frederick R. Lawrence

Frederick R. Lawrence, 92, of Wilmington, DE, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 26, 2019.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, Frederick was the son of the late Chester and Agnes Lawrence. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Miriam S. Lawrence. Frederick will be deeply missed by his daughters Christine Mahoney (Michael), Linda Stein (Merrill) and Pamela Jones (Blaine); his grandchildren Jessica Beck (Matthew), David Stein and Ryan Jones (Caroline); his sister Barbara Fannin; and a niece, nephews and loving friends.

Frederick Lawrence was a research chemist for Du Pont Company. He served his country in WWII in the 7th Armored Division (“Lucky Seventh”). He fought in the Battle of the Bulge and was awarded the Purple Heart medal.

The family suggests memorial contributions to their favorite charity.

Funeral Services

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, January 31, at Chandler Funeral Homes, 2506 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE, where friends and family may visit beginning at 10:00 a.m. The service begins at 11:00 a.m., and interment will follow at Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE.

We are celebrating Fred's life sharing fond memories of fun times spent in Heidelberg church, Fern Rock community, and in Fred's parents & Bobbie's home, on Chew St. in Phila, way back in the 50's and 60's.     We have been neighbors of Fred and Miriam for years and they were the kindest people to everyone. Fred always took a lot of care in his home and we loved see him outside in the yard always doing something. He will be dearly missed. May he Rest In Peace. Love Wendy and Mauro
