Elizabeth Traynham Vance Good

Elizabeth Traynham Vance Good passed away peacefully in Wilmington, Delaware on December 14, 2018, at the age of 92, surrounded by her loving family. She had experienced declining memory for many years but remained active and social until her last days.

She was born in 1926 in Covington Virginia, where she spent her childhood. She married William Fulton Good, a chemist at WestVaCo and for a time worked as a schoolteacher in Covington. When he changed jobs, the couple moved to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Ridgewood, New Jersey, Kansas City, Kansas, and finally Wilmington, Delaware, where she spent the remaining 48 years of her life.

Throughout her life, she was an active volunteer with her church. When her husband, William, passed away after their long marriage, she continued her volunteer work. Her passions were reading, bridge, cooking, travelling, and, of course, her family. She was predeceased by her youngest son, Robert, and is survived by her oldest son, William, devoted daughter in law, Kathleen Good, 5 grandchildren (Andrew Good, Hannah Garrow, Benjamin Good, Pamela Good, and Samuel Good), and 4 grandchildren.

Those who were lucky enough to know her were touched by her generosity, friendship, and wit.
