Marilyn Mae Dalton, 69, died suddenly this past Saturday, September 29, 2018 from a heart attack.
Marilyn was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1949 but lived most of her life in Wilmington, Delaware.
Marilyn and her husband Tim met at a dance when he introduced himself explaining that she worked near him on Cedar Street and he had been watching her walk by each lunch time. Their marriage, which was held at the United Nations Non-Denominational Chapel, was the beginning of a uniquely loving relationship that spanned decades of sharing and caring for each other. This coming December would have been their 41st wedding anniversary.
Marilyn was an administrative office worker in New York’s Wall Street area for many years but what was most important to her was her role as homemaker and caretaker for her husband, Tim and her son, Tim Christopher.
Marilyn had a warm and welcoming heart and terrific sense of humor! She and Tim enjoyed getting out into nature; particularly the Amish areas of Lancaster and Longwood Gardens, Pennsylvania where they would invariably pick up antiques and new recipes for her to try out at home.
She is survived by her husband, Timothy James Dalton and their son, Timothy Christopher Dalton; Tim’s son, Dwayne T. Dalton; Tim’s twin brother, William Raymond Dalton and his wife Patricia Iacobazzo Dalton; the Madeo cousins who were raised as Tim’s quasi siblings: Maria Madeo and her husband, Jeff Koob; Martha Madeo Martin; Peter Madeo and his wife Chris, Margretta Madeo Morris and her husband, Dennis, and Richard C. Madeo and his wife Carol, Peter and Maureen Wellikoff, Michael and Donna Miller, and Ellen Pradella as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorial Services for Marilyn will be held Friday, October 12, 2018 at Chandler Funeral Home, 2506 Concord Pike, Wilmington, Delaware. Visitation will be held from 2:00pm to 3:00pm and then Memorial Services and Eulogies from 3:00pm to 4:30pm.
